Art + Design Thinking
My journey with MDS began as a parent as I wanted a strong academic foundation for my son – a place where his excitement for learning would be nurtured and his curiosity would be encouraged. I found this at MDS, and I am now a proud parent of an MDS alumni.
I have been teaching at this remarkable school since 2015, and I am grateful to be part of a community that encourages independent thinking, international-mindedness, and lifelong learning.
I graduated from Lees-McRae College with a BA in Elementary Education in 2006 and have experience teaching various subjects to all ages.
The arts have always been a part of my life and creating and designing brings me true joy. Watching a child delight in the magic of mixing paint and witnessing the pride shown by students when they succeed in making their vision a reality is priceless. I am excited to share my passion for art with others and implement the approaches to design thinking into our inquiry-driven curriculum.
I enjoy spending time with my family and chasing sunsets for the perfect photograph. I also love music, playing the guitar, dogs, and the beach.
