Visiting Author Shares Rhymes for Young Hearts

On May 3rd, students at Morganton Day School enjoyed a literary treat. Visiting author Joy Resor, of Brevard, visited with lower grades at MDS to share her latest book of poetry, Designed to Shine.

The inspiring book walks students through a poem for each letter of the alphabet in an attitude of reflection and self-awareness. The letter P is for Peace: “Sink into Peace as a seed that you sow. With Peace in your heart kindness always will flow!” N is for Nature: “The sweet earth below us, the blue sky above. A world overflowing with Nature to love!”

Joy was in Morganton to share her book at Adventure Bound Books, where Dr. Angela Shores invited community friends for a live reading.
