Before coming to MDS, I spent 3 years working in pre-K and I was very excited to move up to the elementary level. When I started my teaching career and was asked, "What grade do you want to teach?", my response was always “First grade!”. It is so exciting to help students discover new things and see that "light bulb" moment of learning wash over their face.

I am from Alderson, WV, and in 2013 I moved to NC to attend Lees-McRae college. I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. When not teaching, my son and I enjoy hiking and fishing in NC.
