Dr. Deborah Posner
Middle School Math + Director of Grants

Dr. Deborah Posner has over 25 years of experience as an educator and leader dedicated to preparing students for success.  She has served as a high school math teacher; college professor; college dean and vice president; and executive director for strategic initiative management for the School Board of Broward County, the sixth largest school district in the nation. 

Here in North Carolina, Dr. Posner headed the launch of Cyber Tech High School – a summer camp for IT career preparation.  She also served as Chief Academic Officer for North Carolina Cyber Academy, and Director of Continuous Improvement for Asheville Academy.

Dr. Posner holds a doctorate in education leadership, a masters in business administration, and bachelors in mathematics and computer science as an interdisciplinary study.  She is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Scrum Master.  Dr. Posner has been a guest speaker at a number of national education conferences, and has served as a consultant and workshop facilitator in topics such as strategic planning, project management, and organizational leadership. 

Dr. Posner is a proud resident of Morganton.  When not working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and their animals, as well as reading or hiking.  In addition, Dr. Posner serves our community as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina.
