An MDS Tradition
2021 Titan pin
On Friday, August 20th students greeted the school year outside with our annual Convocation.
The 8th-grade class led us in this time-honored tradition, as we celebrated our MDS community and welcomed new students. We began with the pledge of allegiance and then several 8th graders shared their favorite aspects of Morganton Day School as well as their hopes and goals for the new year.
Each student then received a Titan pin. MDS students receive a different pin each year. The meaning of the Titan symbol was shared with students (check out this link) and each student was recognized by name.
The ceremony concluded with a reminder to tap the Titan Rock for good luck.
