What is IB?
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program is a curriculum framework for international schools. At Morganton Day School, students ages 3-12 engage with concept-based units of inquiry. Students in 7th and 8th grade follow the same philosophy of exploring concepts through inquiry-based lessons.

What is the Learner Profile?
You will often hear teachers and students refer to the Learner Profile. These ten qualities inspire and motivate students as learners. The values reflected through the learner profile allow students to be internationally-minded, global thinkers.

As we begin our year together, students are already beginning to think of ways in which they can demonstrate these attributes. Throughout the school, students have been presenting, finding ways to help our school community, creating essential agreements to best learn and grow together, asking questions and wondering, and sharing ideas.

We are off to a great start! Watch for ways the learner profile is incorporated in your student's class and be sure to let us know how they show these characteristics at home!
