Building Community at MDS
Since its founding, Morganton Day School emphasized the importance of community within the school. As one of our four core values, we understand that a strong school community with parents, students, and teachers is the cornerstone of an exceptional education and supports academic success, personal growth, and emotional well-being.
Throughout the year, MDS finds and creates opportunities to come together to acknowledge academic successes, celebrate holidays and traditions, and provide opportunities to enjoy each other’s company. We know these shared experiences are important in building social connections and a sense of belonging ultimately leading to higher academic performance.
Every year I look forward to spending time together throughout our student’s educational journey. One of our many opportunities to relax and connect is at our beloved family picnic, where families are invited to have an evening of laughter and friendship, along with playing a rousing game of parent vs student wiffleball. If relaxation is more your style, we welcome our families to spread out a blanket and catch up with old and new families alike. We invite you to pack a picnic dinner, and join the fun!
Building a strong community together,
