Hispanic Heritage Month

Spanish Wax Museum

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th - October 15th. Morganton Day School 4th grade students learned the culture of Spanish-speaking countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Chile who celebrate their Independence during this month.

As a way to conclude the Hispanic Heritage Month, and to collaborate with the unit of inquiry “How to Express Ourselves”, students participated in a Spanish Wax Museum. They dressed up as famous Hispanic personalities and presented themselves using their Spanish skills to explain who they represent and the story that made them famous.

This presentation gave students the opportunity to demonstrate several IB Learner Profiles by being knowledgeable, risk-taking, communicators!
