Visiting the Capital!
Throughout the year each JK-6th grade class dives into six units of inquiry. These units are organized under transdisciplinary themes that are designed to help students make connections and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. As students explore concepts, classes enhance their learning through real-world experiences.
Our Greater Morganton Community
MDS first graders ventured into downtown Morganton to connect their classroom learning about communities with our town. They are investigating the central idea, "Communities are impacted by their resources and the decisions of citizens." Students learned about the resources we have in our area and thought about the needs of citizens.
That’s a WrAP!
Next week the 3rd-8th grade students will participate in the ERB Written Assessment Program (WrAP). The WrAP test is an assessment tool used to help teachers determine students' strengths and weaknesses related to writing.
Cultural Pavilion 2023
For the ninth year in a row, students at Morganton Day School celebrated a spanish-speaking country by dedicated six months to studying their cultures and traditions.
Student Spotlight
MDS students are balanced! And this includes balancing academics, social activities, and extracurricular activities. As part of personal wellness, many students choose to participate in athletics.
Middle School Personal Projects
Each year, the 8th-grade students select a year-long personal project focused on personal challenges and goal setting.
